Financial Security Advisor
Scott has been in the financial services industry since 1995. Throughout Scott's career he has held the positions of staff manager, director of advisor development and director of business development. Scott enjoys meeting with clients and prospective clients to help them with all of their financial goals and concerns such as financial security planning, life insurance planning and estate and tax reduction planning.
Sheldon J. MacKenzie, CPA, CA, CFP, TEP, CLU, CHS
Financial Advisor
Although born on the mainland, Sheldon has spent most of his life in Cape Breton. He has been in the financial services industry since 1997. In addition to being an experienced financial advisor, he has held the positions of product manager, business development manager and branch manager. The main focus of his practice is retirement and estate planning for business owners and professionals. Sheldon enjoys providing financial advice to his clients and believes it is important to maintain a good work/life balance. He feels his role as a financial advisor is to help simplify the complex areas of finance, investments and taxation so people can make informed decisions.
Christian M. Marchand, BBA
Financial Security Advisor
Christian began his career in the insurance industry in 2002 working for a life insurance brokerage. His role was the recruitment and development of insurance brokers. These experiences lead him to move back to Nova Scotia and become a financial security advisor in December 2004. In 2009, he took over his father's book of business after 38 years in the industry. Christian has become a skilled and imaginative advisor in the use of insurance products and managed investments. His practice focuses on advising the family market and small business owners in the planning and implementation of wealth and risk management strategies.
Wayne D. Banfield
Financial Security Advisor
Wayne has been in the financial services industry since 2000. During Wayne's career, he has also held the positions of director of business development and branch manager. Aside from helping his clients plan financially, Wayne enjoys giving back to the community by being actively involved in non-profit organizations. He has served on the board for JCI (treasurer), and is also serving a two year term as president of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Breton. Wayne also has volunteered for fundraising activities with the Children's Wish Foundation.

Darren Vallis, BBA
Financial Security Advisor
Darren was born and raised in Cape Breton and is a graduate of the BBA program from CBU. Darren has been in the financial service industry since 2014. Before joining the team at Breton Wealth, Darren spent the first part of his career as a financial security advisor for London Life/Canada Life. He is currently working towards his CFP designation, which he balances with his community involvement as a past president, and active member, of the Sydney Rotary Club. With a wife and young son of his own, Darren works closely with families, as well as business owners, to help them achieve their short and long-term financial goals.
Justin Morehouse, BBA

Justin’s passion for financial planning began in university while attending CBU, where he completed his BBA with a major in accounting and concentration in finance. He is continuing to further his knowledge in the
financial industry by striving for a CFP designation. Justin is proud to stay on Cape Breton Island where he will always consider home.
His business revolves around helping clients make smart investment and insurance decisions through long-term relationships based on holistic and comprehensive advisory services.
Holly MacMillan
Office Manager
Holly has been part of the financial services industry for over 10 years. She is a dynamic, resourceful and energetic individual who is comfortable with being the go to person to make our office run smoothly. Holly is experienced in providing administrative and office management services to her colleagues and she is the very proud mother of two handsome boys.
Julie Marchand
Office Administrator
Julie has been working in the administrative/office management business since 1999 and is a great asset to our team. She is very knowledgeable, organized, and efficient at her work ensuring she's always on top of her many tasks. She also has great knowledge in the accounting field. She is the mother of two and can most often be found either at the rink or ballfield watching her son or at the gym watching her daughter dance.
